Women Dancers

by Ben Crawford

I recoil from women,

Whose hips move,

I freeze looking

At their movements

Bare feet that

Speak new languages,

I am slower with one

She intimidates

These muscles and

A mind, offbeat,

Understanding less

Than a French accent,

A Spanish heart,

Stiff English, American solitude.
